David and I have never had a tree before because we have never spent Christmas at home before. When we were shopping for ornaments I saw some lovely funky ones in glass and we debated buying them and just hanging them up high where the pets could not disturb them. But then I had imagines of the cats actually scaling the tree followed by glass everywhere, so we stuck with plastic. Sure enough, the cats can scale the tree and we’ve been rounding up plastic balls all week. Function wins over fashion yet again.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
We had the same problem here too! While our ornaments are plastic, we also have bells on the tree. Without fail, about 10 minutes after we go to bed at night, we hear the tinkling of the cats playing with the bells and ornaments on the tree! If I get up and scold them, they’ll wait until the wee hours to do it again! So, after yesterday, I gave up on putting the ornaments back up and figure it’s just the cats’ way of helping me take them down!
