Each one of my dogs gives me something different. Each one has their own unique personality. Here, we’re going to explore each of my dogs, one at a time.
As most of you already know, Copper is a 2 yr old Australian Shepherd. He has yeasty skin issues, digestive issues and iris coloboma. He is my most health compromised dog.
Copper is a wiggle-butt. One of those members of the tail-less dog family. His whole body wiggles when he greets me. Sometimes, I call him “Bunny Butt MacPhee” because he reminds me of a rabbit hopping when he runs.
Copper is my goodwill ambassador. He is always pleasant and happy with other dogs and people. He’s always got a butt wiggle greeting going on. He smoothes the way for new dog members of our family and for visiting dog cousins. Copper gives the newbies the message, “No one is going to hurt you! Let’s go play!”
Copper is Dude’s best friend. They play together often, exploring and hiking the land behind our house and then curl up to watch some favorite shows on the couch.
Copper “bosses” Maddie. He often tells her to “get moving” so I can do some work, has a low tolerance for her pony shenanigans, and does not tolerate her running amok at all. During peaceful times, he shares her hay, nibbling at it along side her.
Copper in one word: Loyal. No matter where he is, no matter who holds the leash, he is entirely devoted and loyal to me. Copper would rather be at my side than pretty much anywhere else on the planet.
